A complete genealogy of an ancient family, especially when its more that three centuries old, is difficult to trace out. However, with constant effort and dedication, Mr. K.T. Joseph, who was entrusted the task of preparing the History of Koodarappilly famiky, has traced out most of the family members of the past generation. A detailed genealogy is available in the printed history. Only the first two generations are presently available in this website.

According to available records of the past era, and based on information gathered from some of the elder generation, there were three main Ancestors in Koodarappilly family, who lived during the 1700 period. They are : 

> IPE

The available history reveals that Mr. Ipe, the ancestral father of Koodarappilly family, had had three marriages in his life. He had fourteen sons and one daughter. The family had they ancestral home ("Tharavadu") at "Chemmathiparambu" in Vyttila. Later on, his sons moved out and settled in various places in Vyttila.

Based on some of the available records, Mr. Ipe lived in Vyttila during the period of 1708. Though it was not possible to trace out all the sons and families of Mr. Ipe, most of them were identified. 

Below are their names :

The great grand father Mr. Thummi married Elishua from Manaparambu family. They had four childern.

2) > Ipe > Varutho (Chemmathil Generation)

Both Mr.Varutho and Mr.Augustine, who were the younger sons of ancestral father Mr.Ipe, lived in the ancestral "tharavadu". Mr. Augustine, was unmarried and expired at an early age of 25.

Mr. Varutho married Anna from Pazhambilly family of Maradu. They had six children, whoes names are listed below.

2c) Velamakutty (married at Cochin)
2d) Veroni (married at Cochin)
2e) Tharo (married at Mamangalam)
2f) Thetho (married to Mr.Anthappan of Adichiyil family at Vyttila)

4) > Ipe > Raphael  (Veleenaparambil Generation)

Among the sons of ancestral father Ipe, Raphael settled down at Veleenaparambu in Vyttila. He had three sons, namely :

4a) Varuthu (married Minga from Chellanam. no children)
4b) Ouseph (Punnaparambil Generation)
4c) Cheekku (married Rosie from Chellanam. They had six children and settled at Vyttila)

Ouseph, who was the second son of Raphael, married Kunjamma and settled at Punnaparambu. This couple had 6 children, namely

Ancestral father Ipe's son Augustine lived in Vadakke Veleemparambil. He got married from Parappilly family of Perumanoor. They had 10 children

Joseph, who was one of the younger sons of Ipe, settled at Thaiparambu at Thykoodam. He had 5 sons and 2 daughters, namely :

8a) Thomman (married Plemena. they had 4 children)
8b) Chavaro (married Philomina. they 7 children)
8c) Rappel (married Vironi from Pazhamadathil family, Ponnurunni. had 6 children)
8d) Lonie (married. had 5 children)
8e) Vakko (married Lena from Vattakatt family, Kaloor. they had 5 children)
8f) Mariyam (married. expiered)
8g) Velama (married. expiered)

9) > Ipe > Lonan  ( Thaiparambu Generation)

Great grand father, Lonan, one of the youngest sons of ancestral father Ipe, married Annamkutty. Though three sons and four daughters were born to them, all their sons and three of their daughters expired while young. The youngest daughter, Philomina got married and had a daughter named Annamkutty. However, Annamkutty lost her mother Philomina, and was brought up looked after by her grand father Lonan. Annamkutty got married and had three children.

Varuthu, one of the sons of Ipe, settled at Chettiparambu. His family consisted of 5 children, namely :

10a) Rappel (married Mariyam. they had 2 children)
10b) Thomman (married Anna from Maariyamkulam family, Thevara. they had 3 children)
10c) Anthappan (married Philomina from Aleyparambil family, Maradu. they had 5 children)

Ouseph, one of ancestral father Ipe's sons, got married and settled in Thekke Veleemparamil. He had 6 children, namely :

12c) Achan Bava (married Thressia from Kaliparambil family, Chellanam. adopted a child)

Ouseph, another son of ancestral father Ipe, married Mariyam from Karuvelippadi, in Kochi. They lived in Ernakulam (near Lissie Hospital) during the period of 1880 - 1926. They had 5 children, namely :

Koodarappilly family's ancestral father Thummi, lived in Vyttila desham during the period of 1700. He had five sons, namely :

Petru, one of the sons of Thummi, got married and had 4 children, namely :

5) Thummi - Thomman Generation

According to available records, great grand father Thomman, one of the sons of ancestral father Thummi, lived in Thykoodam area during 1840 period. As per the Hajoor Court Order of that time, the land named Mattappillyparambu, which was with Thomman, was donated to build Thykoodam Church. Apart from that, land was also donated by great grand father Thomman, to build the St. James Chappel and St. Joseph's Chappel, under Thykoodam church.

One of the ancestral fathers of Koodarappilly family, Pethru, lived in Maradu area during 1830 period. He had 6 children in his family.

1b) Pethru - Thommi - Mighael Generation - Maradu

Mighael, who was the second son of great grand father Thommi, married Tressiamma from Pankeyath family of Ochanthuruthu. They were living at Maradu. Later they build a house at Thykoodam and settled there. This couple had 5 children.

1c) Pethru - Thommi - Enashu Generation

Enashu (Ignatious), was the third son of the great grand father Pethru Thommi, who lived in Maradu area. Grand father Enashu, was working as care taker of Carmalite Seminray at Varappuzha. He wished to marry a lady named Mariya, who was the daughter of Paneekkattil Loni. But her family refused the proposal and married their daughter Mariya to Kodungalloor. Unfortunately, her husband expired soon after Mariya gave birth to a daughter.

Grand father Enashu, who had the desire to marry Mariyam earlier. Inspite of the objections from his brothers, he decided to marry Mariyam as a widow and give shelter to herself and her kid. He settled with his new family at Varappuzha.

Apart from the first child that Mariya had from her previous marriage, she gave birth to 5 children, after marrying Enashu. They are :

Among the six sons of the ancestral father Pethru, who lived in Maradu area, the second son Peru, had 6 children, named :

Shourikutty, who was the third son of ancestral father Pethru, was living in Maradu area. He had 4 sons and 3 daughters.
