Nearly three centuries back, the Koodarappilly family migrated to Ernakulam district in the state of Kerala, and settled in the place called Vyttila. Since then, this traditional family has had an active role in the activities of the society as well as the Catholic church.
It became a necessity for the present generation to trace the roots of the unknown and forgotten territories of our forefathers and form a family history. Being a Retd. Research Officer, I was entrusted this huge
responsibility. It was a tedious and commendable effort to prepare the history of a traditional class.
It took more than four years of investigation and findings, before finally putting it down on paper. I had to travel to various places
across the state including Malabar and Alleppey, in search of old manuscripts and past information. This website, as well as the printed version of the family history, is the result of many years of dedication and hard work.
We cannot claim that the present record of family history is complete with all the details of each and every branch of Koodarappilly family. We have tried our best to gather, study, search, and record the available details. With great pride and pleasure we dedicate this historical record to our respectable, brave and loving forefathers.
We expect these foot prints of our fore fathers to be a model and guiding force for the present and future generation.
